Exhibition Quiz & Data Retrieval
System
Toshiba wanted to drive delegates to their stand
to gather information & promote their new laptop
range, so decided the best way of doing this was with
an interactive game & prize give away.
Our first task was to create a simple game with an
interface that reflected the look & feel of the
exhibition stand, but was also instantly intuitive,
as the contestants only had a matter of seconds to
understand and use the interface during the game.
As every deleagte attending the exhibition had a
uniquely numbered identity badge, the game automatically
asked each new contestant to enter their badge number
& queried the database, if their details were
already on file they would appear on screen for the
user to check, if they were wrong they could update
them immediately, thus updating Toshiba’s database,
and registering them with a chance to win the Toshiba
Laptop.
The game was managed by a compere on the exhibition
stand, who was able to start it from any terminal
using the password protected control screen. The game
displayed the number of contestants awaiting to register
on the control screen, so the compere always knew
how many contestants were ready to play a round. The
actual game was a single round of multiple choice
questions about Toshiba Laptops, with the winner of
each round receiving a small prize, with a daily prize
of a Toshiba Laptop, which was picked at random from
all the winners of the day.
The game was a great success for Toshiba, it drew
a large volume of customers to their stand, plus expanded
and updated their database in the process |
