Marks and Spencer First Live Results Webcast Success

Marks and Spencer had commissioned a live webcast of their previous results meeting, but were unhappy with the results achieved. They wanted to see whether their expectations could be met but this time by using Vision360.

As the live webcast was for testing purposes only, it was not to be viewed by the general public, so was not advertised or linked to from the Marks and Spencer website, but it was to be broadcast on the public internet for internal tests

Marks and Spencer provided all onsite production internally, providing us with a live video conference ISDN feed of the presentation from Warburgs Bank in the City, directly to our office. We then transmitted the live feed in QuickTime, Real Video and Windows Media. We also recorded the resulting live webcast on independent computers for a real world test, so Marks and Spencer could see exactly how well the live broadcast went.

Once the live test was complete we uploaded an archive of the event in all three formats, that was available from the Marks and Spencer website for 12 months.

The live webcast went very well and exceeded Marks and Spencer’s expectations, so much though that they continue to webcast all of their financial results.
